Welcome to Temple Lodge

Temple Lodge is a friendly masonic lodge based in Brighton, Sussex. We meet six Saturdays a year and we’ve created this website to tell you about our special lodge and why you should consider joining us. We are always looking to welcome new members to join our lodge whether new to masonry or not.

What is Freemasonry?

Members meet together as “lodges” regularly throughout the year at lodge meetings and social events. Freemasonry is open to men of all faiths who are of good character and who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities.

One of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world, Freemasonry’s roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Freemasons pride themselves on the principles of Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service.

What does Freemasonry offer?

Why Join Temple Lodge?

Temple Lodge is a warm and welcoming lodge that meets for six lodge meetings a year on the fourth Saturday of September, November, January, February, March, and April.

We meet on Saturdays, instead of during the week like many other lodges, which makes attending easier to balance work and family commitments.

Our lodge is prestigious and the first lodge to meet at the Brighton Masonic Centre in the main temple in 1928 and our first few meetings were held in the Royal Pavilion in 1927.

Visitors from other lodges are always welcome and encouraged. This is a good opportunity for members of the lodge to meet new people, and for prospective visiting Freemasons to get a feel for the lodge before joining.
